Testosterone is a hormone produced by the testes. During adolescence, testosterone is responsible for the normal development of male physical attributes such as the male sex organs, body hair, and bone and muscle. In adult men, normal levels of testosterone contribute to bone and muscle strength, sexual function, libido, and certain behaviors.[1]

As many as 5 MILLION men in the United States may have a testosterone deficiency, yet only a small fraction are currently treated with testosterone replacement therapy.[2]
